Thanks. That's what I've been thinking. I initially have been surprised to see many large institutions using etherium somewhere in the mix, for example, using a combination of hyperledger fabric and etherium etc, especially when many networks tout themselves as been better than etherium. Etherium still seems to be the number one choice. Obviously big business will only ever go with what's proven

In my opinion that is primarily it. Ethereum is around a long time (in crypto terms) so is known. Institutions have had time to get comfortable with it. Polymesh offers a lot more but is new and as of yet unproven. You've heard mention of a top 5 bank, by assets under management, potentially launching a token using Polymath on Ethereum. This is something the team has said they have been working on in the background for years and it has taken them this long. While in crypto things move fast traditional financial systems don't always.

What are the benefits of using polymath over polymesh? For example, is it likely some companies will perhaps feel more comfortable using polymath due to etherium's brand strength and the fact that's it's more of an established quantity?

Someone could correct me, but polymath is the company, Polymesh is the purpose built blockchain, POLY is the ERC token on ETH, and POLYX is the native token of polymesh. You can migrate your POLY to POLYX on polymesh through a 1:1 bridge. Regarding any security tokens created on ETH before polymesh, I’m sure they’re fine, but no idea if there’s any need or advantage to migrate

Have a look at the polymesh.network website. The "key pillars" section covers some of the main challenges general purpose blockchains face which Polymesh aims to address. https://polymesh.network/key-pillars-overview

Can anyone explain to me (in breif) why polymesh was created and does polymath still have a long term future?
